1. About ShopyBuddy

ShopyBuddy is a personal shopping assistance service operating exclusively in T Nagar, Chennai. We provide verified shopping buddies who assist customers with bag carrying, queue holding, elderly support, family assistance, listed item shopping, live video shopping, personal shopping, home delivery, wedding shopping, and tourist shopping services.

By using our service — whether via our website or WhatsApp — you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full.

2. Service Area

ShopyBuddy currently operates exclusively within T Nagar, Chennai. Bookings outside this area cannot be accepted. We reserve the right to expand or modify our service area at any time.

3. Booking & Confirmation

All bookings are made via WhatsApp at +91 80981 64982. A booking is confirmed only after you receive an explicit confirmation message from our team. ShopyBuddy reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.

• Bookings must be placed at least 30 minutes before the required session start time
• When booking, you must share your pickup/meet location, service type, and number of hours needed — without this information we cannot confirm your session
• You will be notified of your buddy's name before arrival
• On busy days, buddy dispatch may take a few extra minutes — we appreciate your patience

4. Pricing & Payment

ShopyBuddy charges on a time-based rate. Rates vary by service type (Normal or Premium) and are displayed on our website's pricing calculator. All rates are in Indian Rupees (₹).

• Minimum session duration: 30 minutes
• Additional time beyond booked hours is charged at the applicable per-hour rate
• No hidden charges — you pay only what you see on the rate card
• Premium plan saves ₹20 per hour compared to Normal plan

5. Cancellation Policy

• Cancellations made more than 30 minutes before the session start: no charge
• Cancellations within 30 minutes of session start: a cancellation fee equivalent to the minimum session charge (30-minute rate) applies
• No-shows without notice: the minimum session charge applies

To cancel, message us on WhatsApp as early as possible.

6. Our Buddies

All ShopyBuddy buddies are verified individuals trained to assist shoppers professionally. Your buddy is like that one reliable friend who is always happy to help — but please note that buddies are shopping assistants, not personal security officers, medical caregivers, financial advisors, or childcare professionals.

• Buddies will carry bags, hold queues, and assist as instructed within reasonable limits
• Buddies are not responsible for product quality or store policies
• For elderly shoppers with special requirements, please let us know at booking and we will arrange the right buddy for you
• For Baby & Family sessions, your buddy will assist with the stroller, bags, and heavy lifting — but is not a trained childcare professional and cannot be responsible for child safety
• Any concerns about a buddy must be reported to us immediately

7. Customer Responsibilities

• Be present at the agreed location at the confirmed session time
• Treat your buddy with respect — abusive behaviour will result in immediate session termination
• Do not ask your buddy to carry prohibited, illegal, or excessively heavy items
• Provide accurate instructions for Shop My List and Shopping Assistant services — including a clear shopping list shared via WhatsApp before your session
• Keep your cash, cards, and jewellery with you at all times — just as you would on any shopping trip with a friend
• For listed item shopping, ensure items are within the T Nagar, Chennai area

8. Limitation of Liability

ShopyBuddy is not liable for:

• Loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings — including cash, cards, or jewellery — during a session
• Product defects or store return/exchange policies
• Delays caused by traffic, store closures, or other circumstances outside our control
• Any indirect or consequential losses arising from use of our service
• Store or floor unavailability — if a store is closed, relocated, or inaccessible, ShopyBuddy is not responsible; our buddy will do their best to assist you find an alternative
• Errors in medicines or essentials picked up on your behalf — ShopyBuddy picks up exactly what is on the prescription or list provided; pharmacy or prescription errors are outside our responsibility
• Vehicle or belonging safety once bags have been handed over at your parking location — our buddy's responsibility ends at the point of handover
• WhatsApp message delays or network failures during real-time order updates

Our maximum liability in any circumstances is limited to the amount paid for the specific session in question.

9. Shop My List / Shopping Assistant Services

Shop My List and Personal Shopper services are coming soon — you can register your interest via WhatsApp and we'll let you know when they launch. The following terms will apply once available:

• You bear all product costs — our fee covers only the buddy's service time
• Items we shop for include textiles, groceries, gifts, jewellery, medicines, and other essentials available within T Nagar
• Advance payment for products may be required and is arranged by the ShopyBuddy team only — never by an individual buddy
• We are not responsible for product availability or price changes in-store
• Live photos and videos shared during Shopping Assistant sessions are for your selection only — the final purchase decision is always yours
• For jewellery purchases: your buddy will show you options via live video; payment is made directly to the store by you or your designated person — ShopyBuddy does not hold or transfer funds for jewellery purchases
• Product and style recommendations made by your buddy are suggestions only — ShopyBuddy is not responsible for your final purchase decision
• Same-day delivery is available subject to buddy availability and time of booking — it is not guaranteed
• Delivery charges are separate. We will arrange delivery for your shopping items. Transportation charges are paid directly by the customer.
• Delivery charges are determined entirely by the logistics platform and are subject to demand-based surge pricing. These charges are separate from your ShopyBuddy buddy fee and are paid directly by you to the platform — ShopyBuddy does not collect, mark up, or hold any delivery fees on your behalf.
• The exact delivery cost will be confirmed with you before dispatch. ShopyBuddy is not responsible for any fare changes after confirmation due to platform-side pricing updates.

10. Ratings & Feedback

After your session, you may be invited to rate your buddy and share feedback. This helps us maintain quality and recognise our best buddies.

• Ratings are post-session and voluntary
• Feedback is used internally for quality purposes only and is not shared publicly
• Buddies are identified by first name only in all rating contexts

11. Intellectual Property

All content on shopybuddy.com — including the ShopyBuddy name, logo, design, and text — is the exclusive property of ShopyBuddy. You may not copy, reproduce, or use any part of this website without prior written consent.

12. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

13. Changes to These Terms

ShopyBuddy may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The latest version will always be available at shopybuddy.com/terms-and-conditions. Continued use of our service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Premium Membership

ShopyBuddy Premium is an exclusive membership plan with special perks designed to make your shopping experience even better.

Premium membership is currently available to a limited number of members. ShopyBuddy reserves the right to modify Premium benefits and availability at any time.
