We collect only what is needed to provide your session:
WhatsApp Number
Collected when you initiate a booking. Used only to confirm your session, send buddy details, and provide real-time updates during service.
Your Location
Shared by you at the time of booking for buddy dispatch. Used only to send your buddy to the right place within T Nagar — we do not track your location beyond this.
Shopping List
Shared via WhatsApp for Shop & Deliver or Personal Shopper sessions. Used only to fulfil your order for that session and not stored after delivery is complete.
Session Details
Service type, hours booked, and any special requirements you share at booking.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To confirm your booking and assign the right buddy
- To send your buddy to your location within T Nagar
- To provide real-time WhatsApp updates during Shop & Deliver and Personal Shopper sessions
- To process any advance product payments through our team
- To follow up with a post-session rating request (optional)
- To improve our service quality internally
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for marketing purposes — ever.
4. WhatsApp Communications
WhatsApp is our primary channel for booking, updates, and support. Here is how we handle data within WhatsApp sessions:
- Real-time order updates (photos, messages, item confirmations) during a session are shared between your buddy and you only — they are not stored or logged by ShopyBuddy beyond the session
- Shopping lists you send via WhatsApp are used solely for that session and are not retained after your order is fulfilled
- Your WhatsApp number is not shared with any third party
- Live video shared during Personal Shopper sessions is for your viewing and selection only — it is not recorded or stored by ShopyBuddy
5. Payments & Financial Data
ShopyBuddy does not store payment information. Here is how payments are handled:
- Session fees are paid directly at the end of your session — in cash or via your agreed method
- Advance product payments (for Shop & Deliver or Personal Shopper) are handled by the ShopyBuddy team only — never by an individual buddy
- Any payment details shared with our team for advance arrangements are used only for that transaction and are not stored after the session is complete
- For jewellery purchases: payment goes directly from you to the store — ShopyBuddy does not hold, transfer, or log jewellery payment details
6. Ratings & Feedback
After your session, you may be invited to rate your buddy and share feedback.
- Ratings and feedback are voluntary
- Your feedback is used internally only — for quality monitoring and buddy recognition
- Feedback is not published publicly and is not linked to your WhatsApp number or identity in any external record
- Buddies are identified by first name only in all rating contexts
7. Website & Analytics
Our website (shopybuddy.com) uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. This tool may collect:
- Pages visited and time spent on the site
- Device type and browser information
- Approximate geographic location (city level only)
- How you arrived at our site (search, direct, etc.)
This data is anonymous and aggregated — it cannot be used to identify you personally. It is used only to improve our website experience. For more on how Google handles this data, visit policies.google.com/privacy.
We do not use cookies for advertising or retargeting. The only cookie in use is Google Analytics, which is analytics-only.
8. Data Retention
- Shopping lists and session-specific WhatsApp data: deleted after the session is complete
- Advance payment details: not stored after the transaction is done
- Location data: used only for buddy dispatch; not retained or tracked after the session
- Your WhatsApp number: retained only for as long as you are an active customer; you may request deletion at any time
- Ratings and feedback: retained internally for quality purposes; anonymised over time
9. Your Rights
Under applicable Indian data protection law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you have the right to:
- Know what personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent for us to contact you
